Foodspotting is now celebrating its new alliance with OpenTable as they engage in giving birthday bumps to themselves after three years of their being. The CEO of Foodspotting joins OpenTable as their user interface designer.
Yesterday OpenTable announced its Foodspotting acquisition in a Press Release where Matt Roberts, the CEO of OpenTable expresses his excitement saying, “The Foodspotting team is as passionate about dining as we are, and we’re looking forward to leveraging their unique expertise in the areas of imagery and social sharing to enrich the OpenTable experience for diners and restaurants in new and exciting ways. By adding more visually compelling content to help people decide where to dine and discover dishes they’ll love, we hope to make it even easier to find the perfect table for any occasion.”
OpenTable has been a lead player providing online restaurant reservations with almost 10 million dinners happening every month across 26,000 eateries. Today it serves almost 385 million diners across the United States, Canada, Germany, Japan, Mexico and the UK. Now that Foodspotting has joined OpenTable, Matt says that this will help OpenTable to offer more visually compelling content and a better dining discovery.
This is not the first time that Foodspotting and OpenTable are working together. They started this last year in May when Foodspotting started their online restaurant reservations through OpenTable integrated into their app. As Foodspotting now officially joins, they bring 10 employees and 3 million recipes in the spotlight ever since they were born in 2010.
