Dream Conception has been turning many business visions into a reality. The organization has engaged themselves in doing great things for people. The most recent tool to make entry in the market is Peakium. The flexible recurring payment system on a global basis Peakium is ready for heavy duty usage. Peakium is a solution for those who are residing outside UK as well as those in UK. It gets connected with any payment gateway easily, making recurring subscriptions and payments more flexible.
Our Tech Journalist got to chat with founder Dan Schultzer, and know more about this wonderful payment tool. The other co-founder is Kasper Christensen.
SFM: Why did you start on an idea like Peakium?
D. Schultzer: It was basically to scratch our own itch. Our company, Dream Conception, originated from Denmark and we were using Paypal for our startups. We had one particular big one, a live chat solution, and Paypal simply wasn’t cut for it anymore. So we were looking for something to replace it.
We were looking at all the options and we came across the following problems, that made all unsuitable for us:
- Required a US business (or other specific country, not including Denmark).
- Was limited in terms of plans (we had dynamic setup, with number of seats versus the regular SaaS 3 plan setup that most recurring payment solutions cater to. Furthermore most systems required that we had to create our plans in their platform, limiting our flexibility severely.
- Was limited in terms of payment periods (most were focused on per month and per year, we also had 3 and 6 months payment plans, and had thoughts of different setups).
- Was limited to only API credit card payment gateways, we wanted to introduce bitcoin and bank transfer payments as well to cater for our customers that live in countries where credit card payments is a pain or even impossible.
So Peakium was built out of this frustration, to help our own startups. We soon realized that we can be far from the only ones having such pains with recurring payments, so after nearly a year of production drive with our own startups we are opening up with private beta now.
SFM: So you guys do seem to have the “getting Real” approach! Well, how does Peakium solve this entire problem related to recurring payments? As in, could you share some of the special features that Peakium provides?
D. Schultzer: Yes, it is focused on extreme flexibility, so no matter the payment gateway or the subscription setup it is possible to streamline the payments through Peakium. That be bitcoin payments, bank transfer, 14 day subscription plans, dynamic subscription plans (different pricing depending on the customers choices, instead of sticking to a fixed plan), one time payments like setup fees, and so on.
Also our focus is on simplicity, it should take less than 30 minutes to get a full subscription system running with Peakium. Many competitors focus more fixed plans, limited payment periods, and very limited payment methods (pretty much exclusively credit card payment gateways).
SFM: So which countries do you plan to cater right now?
D. Schultzer: We just opened for local gateways in Singapore and Scandanavia, and are looking at Mexico and Brazil currently. Also we are talking with many startups in other countries. But we are already supporting a lot of countries right now, because we also have the support for Paypal.
SFM: Could you give us a glimpse of few of your customers or users?
SFM: When are you planning to launch?
D. Schultzer: We are planning a public launch in about 3 months.
