Following the footsteps of crowdfunding and its huge success, a new concept is soon to make its advent- crowdselling. Florida based startup SocialTyer is creating a new platform for entrepreneurs to showcase their already funded ideas and reach out to customers. SocialTyer is a new social media-based affiliate program helping entrepreneurs to sell their products. One or more affiliate gets rewarded if they are able convince potential buyers through social media channels to buy the product. Being one of the core players in the industry, a publisher or affiliate is the bridge connecting the brand or retailer with the customer, and getting a commission for that.
Ideas worth sharing will not perish anymore
College friends Jonathan Gosper and Girish Alwani founded SocialTyer to end the entrepreneurial waste. There are many entrepreneurs who have awesome ideas that can make a difference on this planet, for the good. Unfortunately, most of these ideas remain restricted to few local buyers and family and friends. To provide a global platform, SocialTyer comes in! SocialTyer wants to stop the deaths of such ideas due to lack of exposure. On this exciting social commerce platform, entrepreneurs will get a chance to list their products.
Users around the world are then able to promote on their social media accounts, increasing exposure and creating sales. It’s an addicting concept where people share awesome products, earn cash and rewards, and help entrepreneurs.
Match-making of Entrepreneurs and Tyers
The crowdsellers, whom founders love to call as “Tyers” are able to get a 10% commission on every product they manage to sell through their promoting efforts. Cofounder Jonathan explained it well with an example- “You share $100 product on Twitter. Someone follows, clicks and buys the product. You get 10 bucks. The more you are successful at ‘tying’ a transaction, the more rewards you can get on top of that(like, the actual product for free, premium tools, etc)”.
The next question that arises is- how will a seller understand who his/her tyers are. Here comes the exciting part. The seller is not aware of who’s going to promote his/her product. The sellers list their product on the website of SocialTyer with proper product description. They are also to mention what type of tweet/status updates they want from the tyers. Thus, starts the social tying! Another feature that is sure to floor upcoming sellers is- free listings for their upcoming Beta release. When our Tech Journalist asked about how transactions work at SocialTyer and what makes it stand out among others, Jonathan quoted “To break down how a transaction goes down… tyers take 10%.
SocialTyer takes 6%, and the remaining 84% goes to the seller. Suppose in an event, there is a sale. The seller is notified, the money is instantly sent to him/her and he/she is asked to ship the product. Coming soon, we’ll have a store a la Etsy, but much more customizable to really promote the product logo and colors”.
“We like to see ourselves as a true and exciting marketing solution for entrepreneurs” ~ Jonathan Gosper
When we spoke about rewards, Jonathan divulged more details on “freebies” and “ST Credit”. These two are part of the marketing solution that SocialTyer looks to create. If any tyer manages to sell a certain listed product to say 10 people, then that tyer gets that same product for free. Its similar to motivational marketing. ST Credit will be in store credit that tyers will be rewarded by on top of the cash opportunity when they perform at an incredible rate (for example, 5 sales in the past one hour, 100 sales a week, and so on).
With its web version ready, SocialTyer will soon have its Beta release. Initially a limited version will be launched to show people what it’s all about. The “tying” concept will roll out soon after that. At present, people can sign up on their “coming soon” page to get an invitation to the Beta launch once they are ready to lift the curtain. Mobile app for iOS and Android are definitely on the cards, but initial focus lies on getting some traction with this concept, getting some customer feedbacks and working on that. SocialTyer can be simply defined as Jonathan says “a platform built for entrepreneurs by entrepreneurs!”
